Rosario

In the heart of the Wet Pampa

Rosario is located in the east center of the Argentine Republic, in an intermediate point for those who travel around the different regions of the country, and 300 km away from Buenos Aires City.

The city is located in the south-east end of the Santa Fe Province, on the right bank of the Paraná River, 300 km away from the city of Buenos Aries; and it stretches over a surface of 172 km2 in the heart of the wet pampa.

Geographical position of the city end points:

• Latitude: South 32º 52' 18" and south 33º 02' 22" parallel.

• Longitude: West 60º 36' 44" and west 60º 47' 46" meridian.

• Altitude: It ranges between 22.5 and 24.6 meters above sea level.

The weather

It is considered “pampean mild”, which means that the four seasons are not well defined. However, it can be said that there is a hot season from November to March and a cold one between June and the first fortnight in August. It is rainier in the summer than in the winter, with a total rainfall of between 800 and 1,000 mm per year. Annual climatological averages:

Medium temperature: 16.9º C

Minimum temperature: 10.8º C

Precipitations: 1,025 mm per year

Average relative humidity: 75 %

Total population

The population in the City of Rosario is currently estimated at over a million inhabitants. In the Great Rosario there are approximately 1,350,000 inhabitants in an area which, apart from Rosario, includes Villa Gobernador Gálvez, San Lorenzo, Pérez, Capitán Bermúdez, Granadero Baigorria, Fray Luis Beltrán, Funes and Puerto San Martín.

The population density is of 5,310 inhabitants per km².
